After seeing some freezing temperatures across Central Texas on Tuesday morning, we will have a chance to do it again overnight and into Wednesday morning! Most of the area could see temperatures in the low 30’s out the door, but a few areas in the upper 20’s can’t be ruled out either. This does not appear to be as long of a freeze as we saw on Tuesday morning, but something to take note of regardless!

REMEMBER THE FOUR P’S!!

People - take care of your people! Make sure everyone stays warm, including you! Check in on friends or family in the area if the need supplies for the colder weather.

Pets - bring them inside! Most pets (if not all pets) do not appreciate being left outside in the cold weather! It is much better if they are brought inside to stay warm with you!

Pipes - while this is not expected to be a hard freeze, you shouldn’t take any chances...cover up those outdoor pipes and water faucets before it gets too cold!

Plants - if you have any sensitive plants outdoors, bring them inside if you can!

After the near freezing conditions on Wednesday morning, Central Texas looks to warm up again! Highs will reach into the 60’s and 70’s as we enter the new year, and that is where we are expected to stay during the days that follow the New Year holiday. This is despite the fact that the area could see a few weaker cold fronts - that admittedly could cool us down - but only ever so slightly. We are only talking a matter of a few degrees, so don’t expect too much variation with the temperatures after Wednesday!

After the freezing temperautres on Wednesday morning, the low temperatures should return to the 40’s and 50’s as we start 2026 in Central Texas.
