GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) - On November 22, 1995, Yolanda Saldivar arrived at the Patrick L. O’Daniel State Prison Unit in Gatesville.

Saldivar was found guilty of the murder of Tejano music superstar Selena Quintanilla in March of 1995 and was sentenced to life in prison.

Saldivar, the founder and former president of Quintanilla’s fan club, shot Quintanilla during a dispute in a Corpus Christi hotel room.

Earlier this year, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles announced that Saldivar was denied parole and will remain in prison for at least 5 more years.
