Fort Hood Designated as Test Site for Battlefield Technology

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - On December 2, 1994, the U.S. Army designated Fort Hood as the official site to test new computerized battlefield systems.
This decision came with the newly formed Operational Test Command having its headquarters right here in Central Texas.
Operational Test Command’s mission is to test the latest a greatest technology and equipment designed to make U.S. forces more effective and safer on the battlefield.
A mission they continue to this day.
