WACO, Texas (KWTX) - On December 10, 2011, Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III became the first and only Baylor Bear to win the Heisman Trophy.

After beating out preseason favorite Andrew Luck, Griffin’s victory was a moment of pure joy, with his iconic “Superman” socks, which he revealed on stage.

The Copperas Cove graduate called the moment “unbelievably believable” in his acceptance speech.

RG3’s Heisman campaign included passing for 4,293 yards and 37 touchdowns, both school records at the time, while also leading Baylor to its first 10-win season in over three decades.
