TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - On December 25, 1932, the infamous Bonnie and Clyde slipped their way into Temple, where they stole a car during a crime spree.

Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, along with gangster W.D. Jones, spotted a car at 606 S. 13th Street.

As they were attempting to steal the car, the owner of the car, 27-year-old grocery store clerk Doyle Johnson, tried to stop them but was shot and killed.

Police eventually killed the outlaws in Louisiana, two years later, in May of 1934, after one of the most extensive manhunts the nation had seen at the time.
