Military spouse and mom travels country to help veterans in need
COPPERAS COVE, Texas - Our next Be Remarkable takes us to Copperas Cove, where we were able to surprise Maria Reed and honor the amazing work she is doing for veterans throughout the country.
Maria has been a military spouse for 22 years and now is seeing her son enlist; another reminder why she wants to give back.
Now she travels the country filming her series “Moving with the Military.” The show does surprise makeovers for military families, something that keeps Maria’s passion alive.
“Because we’ve lived this life, because we’ve done this, we understand what military families go through and how difficult home is. What does that even mean? Is it where you were from, where you are now, the four walls you live in? What is that? So, in talking with the families, we just learned that this was so needed,” Reed said.
Her commitment to veterans is the reason her friend, Nina, nominated her to receive a 500 dollar check for being remarkable on behalf of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
Maria says that volunteers are what makes the whole process work while she’s traveling the country to help those veterans in need.
“Without their support, without the volunteers who come out and raise their hand that say, you know, I’m here, pick me, I will help you do whatever. I mean, we’ve had volunteers come out and help do the work because without them it wouldn’t happen,” Reed said.
