Lorena, Texas woman helps homeless transition off the streets to permanent housing
Lorena, Texas (KWTX)- The next Be Remarkable takes us to Lorena, where we had the pleasure to meet Rene Groppe.
Rene has helped collect items to deliver to homeless people all across the country. She also helps assist people living on the streets transition to permanent housing.
“It hits close to home, it does. When you have people that you’re very close to that were in that position at one time, you have a whole different outlook on it,” Groppe said.
Rene is always thinking of those she can help even when she received a 500 dollar check for being remarkable on behalf of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
“This will go to my people because I love them and this will do so much for my people out on the streets,” Groppe Said.
When you meet Rene, it is obvious she represents the values and mission of Daniel Stark. It is why Lisa Pigg nominated her for this honor.
“I have been watching her on Facebook and all the things she does, and she is just more than deserving of this,” Pigg said.
It is seeing her work result in good that keeps Rene going every day.
“We’ve gotten people off the streets. We even got a man from Iowa back to Iowa. He was on the streets in Waco, too. He is now back in Iowa getting the help he needs.” Groppe said.
If you know someone like Rene make sure you nominate them at kwtx.com/beremarkable.
