Marlin, Texas (KWTX)- Our next Be Remarkable take us to Marlin, where we had the great pleasure to meet sara Payne who has been a huge hero at the Marlin library.

She has managed fundraising efforts, offered after school programs, and helped with home school resources to help the once at-risk little library to return to being a mainstay in the community.

“I interviewed and got hired, and then a couple weeks later, they said we have essentially four months left to stay open. It was heartbreaking, you know, to lose such a community asset. I talk about the library as a jewel of Marlin. And so, this is really a beautiful place where people can come and convene.” Payne said.

That is when she made it her mission to avoid closure.

“I just started campaigning for the sake of the library and I was like, we can’t close, Marlin needs this place.” Payne said.

Her dedication is why she was nominated by Marlin mayor, Susan Byrd, to receive a $500 check on behalf of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers for being remarkable.

“This town is going to take off, and it has a great future in front of it. And this library and Sarah Payne, are a prime example of how fast and how far we’re going to go,” Byrd said.

Sara showcases the value of selflessness and community dedication that aligns with Daniel Stark’s mission of being remarkable. If you know someone like Sara, make sure to nominate them at kwtx.com/beremarkable.
