Waco, TX volunteer offers hope to those in their darkest hours
Waco, Texas (KWTX)- Our next Be Remarkable takes us to Waco, where we had the pleasure to meet Dr. Jim Ellor.
Dr. Ellor is a retired professor at the Garland School of Social Work at Baylor university and also volunteers as a disaster and crisis response volunteer at Presbyterian Church USA.
Ellor has helped provide relief during deadly flooding in Kerrville, the West explosion, in North Carolina after hurricane Helene and much more.
“To me, it’s hypocritical to teach something I’m not actively doing. And so I have always been a parish associate here, which has been one of the ways that I have maintained that, because I’m able to periodically go out and help particular families,” Ellor said.
The generosity Dr. Ellor provides follows the mission of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers to be remarkable and is why he was presented with a $500 dollar check on behalf of Daniel Stark.
A man who has touched many and inspired others to serve their communities.
And he even was able to help those who are going through the scariest times of their lives
“Down in Kerrville, I working with families down there. There’s a lot of stuff there that needs to happen. I offer free counseling for any first responder who has been through trauma, because not all of them can afford it,” Ellor said.
If you know someone like Dr. Ellor, make sure to nominate them for Be Remarkable at kwtx.com/beremarkable.
