(KWTX) -On October 14, 2024 NASA launched the Europa Clipper Mission, the first mission designed to conduct detailed scientific studies of Jupiter’s moon Europa. There are nine scientific instruments aboard the spacecraft. One of those instruments is a radar named REASON that will look to penetrate Europa’s icy surface in search of the moon’s suspected ocean under the ice. We are talking with Dr. Don Blankenship, the principal investigator for REASON, about how this radar works and what they hope to learn about Europa during this mission.
