Degrees of Science: Reaching for the Stars (Part 2)

(KWTX) -Dr. Jose Hernandez’s life is an amazing story of perseverance and never giving up on your dream. He grew up as a migrant farmworker with the dream of being an Astronaut, and despite being rejected by NASA 11 times he never gave up on his dream. Dr. Hernandez’s story inspired a critically acclaimed movie “A Million Miles Away”.

In part 2 of our interview Dr. Hernandez looks back at his mission aboard Space Shuttle Discovery. He also talks about the work he does now to promote diversity in STEM education.
