(KWTX) -Certain breeds of smaller dogs, including dachshunds, are at high risk of developing herniated discs in their back, which can lead to paralysis. Until recently, the only treatment for this has been a very costly decompression surgery.

Today we are talking with Dr. Nick Jeffery, a professor of Neurology at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences’, who has developed a groundbreaking, and much more affordable, new treatment for herniated discs in these dogs.
