(KWTX) -Over the last few years we have seen an increase in the amount of floating seaweed, known as Sargassum, washing up on tropical beaches. These seaweed blooms occur during the peak of sea turtle nesting season along Florida beaches. Dr. Sarah Milton, a biologist from Florida Atlantic University, has done research to study how this accumulating sargassum on Florida beaches impacts sea turtle hatchlings as they work to get from the nest to the ocean.
