Local woman helps stray cats in the community
COPPERAS COVE, Texas - This next Be Remarkable takes us to Copperas Cove to meet Wanda Moore, a woman who has been trying to help stray cats in the community.
Wanda lives next to one of the local parks in Copperas Cove and noticed a high number of stray cats. she now goes out every morning and makes sure they are fed and have water, and when new ones are found she takes them to get fixed to help mitigate the overpopulation.
“I started fixing them. And I’ve been doing it for 17 years. So I probably had, I don’t know how many, how big, probably 200, 300 cats,” Wanda Moore, Be Remarkable Winner.
For Moore this has just became something she does and her daily routine. Which made her even more surprised when she was presented a 500 dollar check for being remarkable on behalf of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
That is why Barbara Mims nominated her for Be Remarkable.
“She comes out and brings water and she does it every day rain or shine, " Barbara Mims, Nominator.
It is a project that takes time and is a labor of love.
Wanda has to take cats to different places as far as Austin to help get them fixed. and she uses a lot of cat food.
If you know of a Remarkable person, nominate them at www.kwtx.com/BeRemarkable.
