Local woman brings people together to help after Central Texas tornados
BELTON, Texas - This next Be Remarkable takes us to Belton as we introduce you to Kristina Ridgeway.
Kristina sprung into action after tornados hit Belton and Temple last year as she helped create a facebook page to help unite people, but she would say she is not a hero.
“A lot of people were needing a lot of help and a lot of people that were offering to help. I just kept seeing both sides of it, and I said we need to put all these people together,” Kristina Ridgeway, Be Remarkable Winner.
That is why Libbey Mitchell nominated Kristina for her caring nature.
“I’m a mom we get it done. There’s a lot of people that were hurting, and a lot of people that were asking how can I help, how can I help. So that was beautiful, to see the community just coming together. Every request was; I can help, I can do that, I can help,” Kristina Ridgeway, Be Remarkable Winner.
Kristina says that many people did much more than her though her grace and care for the community is the reason why she was handed a $500 check on behalf of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
“We know you are going to put it to good use and continue to help. Thanks for this story and inspiring people to do stuff,” Danny Daniel, Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
When Kristina launched the facebook page it quickly jumped over 3,000 people in the group, helping organize supply drives, food drives, and resources for victims.
“The generosity of everyone, neighbors helping neighbors that is what it’s all about,” Ridgeway said.
