Woman helps supply food for the local food bank
AXTELL, Texas - Our next Be Remarkable takes us out to Axtell to meet Lisa Lide, known as Miss Lisa, at the Axtell Baptist Church.
There she is a key part of their operations at the food pantry that helps feed the community. She often spends her own money shopping for groceries, a sacrifice she is willing to make for her community.
“Whatever I do is godly, and I follow my Lord and savior,” Lide said.
This type of work is why Jennifer Bennett nominated Lisa to receive a $500 check on behalf of Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers for being remarkable.
“She goes out of her way in my opinion, over and above to make sure everybody in the community who needs food can get food,” Bennett said.
Lisa says she just feels like she is doing what she needs to do, and she is thankful for Be Remarkable to help continue to provide an important service for the Axtell community.
“Axtell Baptist Church is a wonderful little Church, we just work for our community in many ways,” Lide said.
One of the big services her and the food bank do is providing people with Holiday meals where they give out turkey and ham with all the sides.
