WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco woman was arrested Wednesday morning after police say she put her 11-month-old son in harm’s way during a domestic disturbance at an apartment on Richland Drive.

Emone Shante Hills, 31, remained in the McLennan County Jail under bonds totaling $6,000 after her arrest about 3 a.m. Wednesday on second-degree felony child endangerment and misdemeanor assault charges.

According to an arrest affidavit, Hills’ boyfriend told police he came home early from work because he was not feeling well. Hills, according to arrest documents, was “heavily intoxicated and upset.”

“Emone did not believe that Richard was sick and that he was simply avoiding work,” the affidavit alleges. “While Emone was washing dishes in the sink, she requested Richard do a chore to which he said he cannot on account of him vomiting and feeling ill.”

The argument continued and the man started putting Hills’ belongings near the front door so she could leave when her mother arrived to pick her up, the affidavit states.

“While moving her belongings Richard was holding their infant son in his arms at which point Emone began to assault him by throwing objects at him such as shoes, placing their infant son at risk of bodily injury,” police wrote in the affidavit. “It should be noted that no injuries were observed on the infant child.”

Hills then “approached Richard aggressively” and scratched him and bit him. Officers noted injuries on his chest and bruises on his right side, according to the affidavit.

Hills’ mother told police she was on the phone with the man and overheard her daughter “screaming and yelling” at him. The man showed police a brief video of the incident he captured before Hills knocked the phone from his hands “from what Richard claimed to be Emone swinging at his hands.”
