‘Imma smoke you dude’: New suspect arrested in hotel shooting and robbery incident, police say
Third suspect arrested on multiple charges.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated robbery after allegedly shooting a victim during a hotel room robbery last month, according to police.
Joseph Charles Morgan Ivy, 24, and three other suspects arrived at the Woodspring Suites at 705 I-35 on Nov. 23, authorities said. Police reported the group organized a plan to rob the victim following a dispute over money.
According to the police report, hotel security footage captured Ivy entering the victim’s room wearing a ski mask and carrying a handgun. Ivy pointed the weapon at the victim and demanded money.
The security cameras recorded Ivy making threats during the robbery. Ivy could be heard telling the victim “You a dead mother f****r” and “imma smoke you dude,” according to police, police said.
After one of Ivy’s accomplices took money from the victim and left the room, Ivy remained behind with the gun still pointed at the victim, authorities confirmed. Police say a single gunshot was then heard on the security footage before Ivy was seen running from the room.
Ivy later confirmed to his accomplices that he had shot the victim, according to the police report. The group fled the hotel together following the shooting.
Police later identified the other suspects as Amelia Rose Odgen, 19, and Laderious Wright, 26.
Police arrested Ivy and charged him with attempted murder, aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Additional charges include unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, tampering with physical evidence, assault of a pregnant person, possession of controlled substances, unauthorized use of a vehicle, evading arrest, unlawful carrying of a weapon with felony conviction and forgery of a financial instrument. Total bond for all charges was set at more than $500,000.
Police also arrested Ogden for attempted murder, aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity. Total bond for all charges was set at $65,000.
Wright was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated robbery, and engaging in organized criminal activity. Total bond for all charges was set for $300,000.
