Man charged after more than 1,000 pounds of trash illegally dumped in McLennan County, Texas
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A man has been charged after more than 1,000 pounds of trash was illegally dumped in McLennan County earlier this year.
Guillermo Moreno, 38, arrested on Dec. 11, is charged with illegal dumping. Online records show Moreno is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and assault causing bodily injury.
The illegal dumping of more than 1,000 pounds of trash is a state jail felony.

On Oct. 23, deputies with the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of illegal dumping in the 200 block of Wilson Road.
Paperwork found within the trash found at the site “showed the address for most of the dumped property to be from an eviction at 915 Turner Street in Waco, Texas,” an arrest warrant states.
Furthermore, an investigation revealed a company named Alamo Junk Removal and Demolition had been hired to clean the property at 915 Turner Street on the day of the eviction, the warrant further states.

The owner of the company told deputies the demolition and cleanup job was assigned to his employee, identified in the warrant as Moreno.
Deputies interviewed Moreno on Nov. 18 and he acknowledged he had performed the cleanup job at the property. Moreno reportedly showed the deputies photos of the property before and after he cleaned it up.
According to the warrant, Moreno said his company’s trailer was filled with trash after the job and he parked the truck in front of his residence the night he completed the cleanup job.
Moreno told the deputies that when he woke up the next morning, the trailer was empty.
When told that he was lying and that deputies knew he had illegally dumped the trash, Moreno said, “No. I don’t know how the trailer got empty.”
Moreno remains jailed at the McLennan County Jail on bonds totaling $13,000. The arrest warrant did not provide information about the possession and assault charges.
