‘Hit me, fight me’: Grandmother arrested for allegedly punching child in face, police say

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A grandmother punched her grandchild in the face multiple times with a closed fist, leaving visible injuries, according to a police affidavit.

The incident happened Nov. 5 when the victim and his 9-year-old brother got into a physical fight, according to the police report. Angela Montgomery, 53, and the victim’s sister had to pull the boys apart.

Montgomery then grabbed the victim and threw him onto a couch before punching him, the affidavit states. She told the child to “hit me, fight me,” according to the document.

According to the affidavit, the victim told investigators Montgomery threw him on the couch and punched him. He confirmed he never hit his grandmother back.

The victim’s 15-year-old sister witnessed the incident and told police she saw Montgomery throw her brother onto the couch, punch him twice and slap him on the head twice, investigators confirmed.

Police photographed the victim’s injuries, which included a visible scar above the right eye.

Montgomery was arrested and charged with injury to a child on a $3,000 bond.
