3-year-old Dawson Zamora has died, boy’s mother and boyfriend arrested on capital murder charge
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Three-year-old Dawson Zamora died Sunday morning, according to a social media post made by his father, while the boy’s mother and her boyfriend face capital murder charges.

In an emotional post today, Dawson’s father, Dahrian Zamora, wrote that his son died Sunday, Dec. 7, at 10:42 a.m.
NewsChannel 10 has reached out to the father to confirm his son’s passing.
Dawson’s mother, Chelsea Berg, has been taken into custody and charged with capital murder of a person under 10 years of age, according to a Collin County judicial record.
The mother’s boyfriend, Christopher Alexander, was previously arrested the day the toddler was beaten.
His charges have now been upgraded to capital murder.

The father said a six-page arrest affidavit is expected to be released, adding that “what will come out absolutely breaks my heart all over again.”
He thanked friends, family, McKinney police, the district attorney’s office, judges, his attorney and medical staff “for helping find justice for my son” and for allowing him to hold Dawson as he took his final breath.
