Waco ISD superintendent previews upcoming school year
New high school campus to open at the start of the school year
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Last year was a busy year for Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Spicer, from taking on the position of superintendent during the school year -- along with a multi-million dollar high school construction project.
The new building will have several state of the art facilities for learning opportunities, athletic programs and fine arts.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held back in October 2022, the new campus will accommodate over 2,100 students.
Dr. Spicer tells us although the district is currently not growing, new additions like the high school should account for that in the future. She also shared what she’s focused on for her first full year.
“We are the largest district in our area and I want to make sure we are known as a flagship and the standard of excellence for not just Waco ISD but all the surrounding districts, we are all in this together. We’re partners in this work,” Dr. Spicer said.
She says the district has just finished their strategic planning which will take them to the year 2030.
