New Waco High School nearing completion ahead of first day of school
The new campus will have several state of the art facilities for students
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Final touches are underway at the new Waco High School with students and staff returning to campus later this week for the first day of school.
In October 2022, dirt started moving on the new campus and this week as the district approaches the first day of school, it marks a new beginning for Waco ISD students and staff.
The new campus will have several state of the art facilities for learning, athletic programs and fine arts with room for 21 hundred students. However, the high school isn’t the only campus with a new look: Kendrick Elementary has a new facility along with South Waco receiving a remodel.
“We’re thankful to our community and our voters for saying yes and allowing us to build these updated and new facilities and so we do believe it will attract other students and families and we do have a lot of excitement from families who have not either been with us or are hearing about us.” Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Spicer said.
This school year the district added more than 250 teachers.
The first day of school is August 13th.
