Temple Police investigate aggravated assault after early morning shooting Saturday
One person hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following disturbance, suspect located around scene
TEMPLE — Temple police are investigating an aggravated assault that left one person injured following an early morning disturbance call Saturday morning.
Officers were called to S 47th Street and W Avenue Z at around 5:31 a.m. for a disturbance and fight in the street.
The caller told dispatch that multiple gunshots were heard during the disturbance and that several people fled the area in vehicles.
Officers canvassed the area for the involved vehicles while additional officers secured the scene.
Officers at the dispatch location found multiple shell casings, a residence and a vehicle that had been hit.
Other officers located one of the suspect vehicles nearby.
One victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries have been reported.
The case is under investigation. No other information will be released at this time.
