WEST, Texas (KWTX) - No snow? No problem. It may not feel like we’re walking in a Winter Wonderland outside, but Lights of West is bringing the holiday magic to town.

In 2020, Bradley Luedke, co-owner of Lights of West — teamed up with friends after acquiring property off I‑35 to build a community focused drive-through Christmas lights park.

“With Covid, the way it happened it actually gave us a lot of time to actually work on it and get something going,” he said.

That vision has grown into a holiday destination.

“We’ve got the drive thru which is a little over a mile long. We also offer trailer rides; then at the landing spot, the end, there’s some inflatable’s stuff to do, we try to have live music scattered through the time we’re open as well as petting zoos.”

In its fifth year, organizers say attendance is hard to pin down exactly, but it keeps growing as new features are added to the property.

As for the best part; the joy it brings to so many.

“It’s really always a joy. You get to see the kids, just the families interact. The kids just really get the excitement and everything - it’s just really fun to watch that.”

Lights of West is open through December 30th from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m.
