Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas: 9.5.24
Texas (KWTX) - Here’s this week’s Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas:
Crawford Coffee Stop at 6659 North Lone Star Parkway in Crawford failed a renewal inspection with a 73. (27 Demerits).
According to the food safety worker, there were several dead and live pests in the ice machine room.
The raw beef, sliced cheese and sliced tomatoes were not kept at the right temperature. They were thrown out. So were the chicken wings.
An employee was making a burger and handling the bun, onions and tomatoes with their bare hands.
That was thrown out. There were other issues as well.
This place needed reinspection.
Bush’s Chicken at 106 South George Kacir Drive in West passed an inspection with a 93. (7 Demerits)
According to the food safety worker, the fried livers and fried chicken wings were not kept at the right temperature. They were thrown out.
An employee didn’t have a food handler’s card, and the walls of the walk-in cooler were rusty.
Longhorn Steakhouse at 4300 Franklin Avenue in Waco passed a routine inspection with a 96. (4 Demerits)
According to the food safety worker, the food containers still had food debris inside of them and they were stacked while wet.
That is also a violation.
And this week’s Clean Plate award goes to Don Julio Taqueria Mexican Restaurant at 404 North 2nd Street in Hico.

It has all your favorites from nachos supreme to Chile Rellenos to eggs with Mexican flavor, low carb entrees and sopapillas.
You can also get American food such as hot wings and waffle fries.
