(KWTX) - Here’s this week’s Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas:

Chopsticks of Robinson Inc. At 628 North Robinson Drive in Robinson failed a renewal inspection with a 72. (28 demerits)

According to the food safety worker, they needed to safely store the soiled and damp wiping clothes and label the bulk spices.

All the employees must wear appropriate hair and beard restaurants.

They were reusing cans of sauce and improperly storing raw eggs and cooked chicken.

The sanitizer bucket contents weren’t strong enough.

And that’s just the first page of notes. There were two more.

Because of the repeat violations, this place also had to pay a reinspection fee.

Cracker Barrel at 4275 North Interstate Highway 35 in Lacy Lakeview failed a routine inspection with an 88. (12 demerits)

It later got a perfect score.

To get that, according to the food safety worker, it had to make some changes.

The following foods were not kept at the right temperature; the mac and cheese, broccoli casserole, hash brown casserole, hash browns, cooked chicken breast, and mashed potatoes.

They were thrown out.

Also, the walk-in cooler could not maintain an adequate temperature.

This place also had to pay a $125 reinspection fee.

Bush’s Chicken at 7990 North Highway 6 in Woodway failed a renewal inspection with a 90 and needed a re-inspection. (10 demerits)

According to the food safety worker, a small reach-in cooler was not cooling properly. So, the sauce cups inside needed to be discarded.

There was a black mold-like substance on the ice machine deflector and the surrounding walls inside, and growth and old food debris inside the reach-in cooler.

The employees’ personal items such as earbuds, cell phone, and jacket were on the food prep table.

And this week’s Clean Plate award goes to Wacool Tacos inside (Union Grove) at 8100 Woodway Drive in Woodway.

The reviews are in and people described the tacos as fantastic, delicious, and absolutely amazing.

The elote was also a favorite and the mole was a real treat.

If you stop by, try the new Quesa Birria and Korean BBQ tacos.

I hear they are on point.

Report Card” segments are gathered directly from the public records of regular inspections conducted by county health department officials in Central Texas. KWTX does not determine what locations are inspected and does not assign the overall scores which are reflected in percentages. Any questions regarding the status of an inspection, reinspection, or the score reported should be directed to the individual county health departments in which those businesses are located.
