Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas: 1.9.25
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Here’s this week’s Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas:
Chopsticks of Robinson Inc. at 628 North Robinson Drive in Robinson failed a reinspection with a 75. (25 demerits)
According to the food safety worker, the following foods were not held at the right temperature, the raw chicken, eggs and diced cabbage.
The owner was using their bare hands to touch the diced cabbage and chopped broccoli, and didn’t wash them.
The owner was unaware of proper food handling techniques.
Also, a child walked into the kitchen and began cooking without proper handwashing.
There were other issues including, raw pooled eggs stored in a saucepan and detergent in a corn can.
Armstrong’s Bayou Cafe at 720 Franklin Avenue inside Union Hall in Waco failed a renewal inspection with an 84. (16 demerits)
According to the food safety worker, the cooked pasta was cooling while inside Ziploc bags and a container of gumbo sauce was kept on the food prep table, not at the right temperature.
Raw catfish filet was stored above the etouffee and other prep sauces, and some thawing in a bucket of standing water.
An employee was wearing rings on their hand while working in the kitchen.
Great American Cookies at 6001 West Waco Drive inside the Richland Mall in Waco failed a renewal inspection with a 92. (8 demerits)
According to the food safety worker, the following were not kept at the right temperature, the chocolate chip, peanut butter, birthday cake, and double fudge cookie doughs.
Some, including the gingerbread cookie cake dough were thrown out.
Some of the coolers were not working properly.
So, all the items inside were thrown out and the equipment needed to be repaired.
All these places needed re-inspection.
