WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Here is this week’s restaurant report card for Central Texas:

Ocean Buffet at 505 North Valley Mills Drive in Waco failed a renewal inspection with a score of 77 as a result of 23 demerits.

According to the food safety worker, the chopped cilantro and sliced mushrooms were not kept at the right temperature.

Neither were the mussel soup, sweet-and-sour chicken, fried fish, chicken nuggets, French fries, and spring rolls. They were thrown out.

A number of foods were not stored properly, raw fish, raw chicken, raw salmon and eggs.

There was old food debris and an unknown substance on the clean dishes.

There were lots of other violations, including ones that dealt with cleanliness.

Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom at 4641 South Jack Kultgen Expressway in Waco failed a renewal inspection with an 82 as a result of 18 demerits.

According to the food safety worker, several items were passed the use-by-date, and they were re-packaged and portioned.

It referenced the calzone and shredded cheese.

Those products were thrown out.

There was a mold-like growth in the ice machine area.

Some cooked chicken and bacon were not kept at the right temperature.

Subway #17730 Orange Cup at 1020 South 5th Street in Waco failed a renewal inspection with an 83 as a result of 17 demerits.

According to the food safety worker, the cooked eggs, avocado spread, spinach, and sliced cucumbers were not kept to the right temperature. They were moved for rapid cooling.

The sanitizer bucket did not have enough sanitizer in it.

There was also a black mold-like substance near the sink plus other issues.

All these places will need a reinspection.
