WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Lets give it up for Luke Sanderson, a senior at Goldthwaite High School.

Sanderson surpassed his 2,000 career points during their basketball game against Johnson City Friday night.

He now sits at 2,016 points for his career.

Sanderson plays point guard and has been on varsity all four years of High School.

13 talented students from the Killeen ISD Career Center’s DECA Program have earned a coveted spot at the competition after a great performance in the District Competition in Round Rock on Saturday.

They competed alongside 36 High Schools and 32,000 total participants.

The KISD Career Center Team demonstrated excellence and preparation, cementing their place as one of the leading Career and Technical Education Student Organizations in the District.

Jasmine Olivar, of Gatesville, a second-semester industrial systems student at Texas State Technical College’s Waco Campus found out that she was one of the first recipients of a scholarship established in 2023 by a longtime Waco family.

Olivar received the David and Valerie Fallas Scholarship, granting her 5,000 dollars for the first semester and 5,000 dollars for the third semester of her studies.
