Good News Friday: January 31, 2025
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - We want to say a quick welcome back to the Killeen and Morgan’s Point firefighters who assisted in the battle against the California wildfires.
They were welcomed back by Killeen Mayor Debbie Nash-King and their community as they pulled into the station on Tuesday.
Congratulations to Waco High School students Daniella Mercado and Briannah Herring who captured second place at the District Central Texas Debate meet.
The two Lady Lions now advance to the state contest.
Season 48 of Survivor is premiering this month on KWTX and this year there is a castaway from Waco.
Mitch Guerra is a 34-year-old P.E. coach at Castleman Creek Elementary for Midway ISD.
In a Facebook post, the school said “Castleman Creek is ready to support coach G on this season of Survivor!”
We’ll hopefully get to talk to Mitch soon about the amazing opportunity.
