WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The Midway ISD Communications team earned multiple top awards at the Texas School Public Relations Association State Star Awards for the 2023-24 school year.
The team brought home 6 Gold awards, including 4 Best of Category honors celebrating excellence in school communications.
Temple ISD’s Communications Department was also recognized with 5 Gold star awards and 2Ssilver star awards presented by the Texas School Public Relations Association. Temple ISD won Gold or Silver honors for all 7 Star Awards entries the district submitted.
Four Killeen ISD Education and Training students are on their way to National Competition this summer after a top 10 finish at state.
Juniors Adkins and Aaliyah Martinez-Jones and seniors Sydney Sica and Abigail Jimenez finished among the best in a category called “Ethical Dilemma” at the Texas Association of Future Educators Teach Tomorrow Summit in Galveston.
The four competed among 2,000 students from across the state to earn a spot at the Educators Rising National Conference June 26 to 29 at Orlando.
Temple ISD’s Digital Learning Coach, Hannah Ketteman has been selected to join GenerationAI, a groundbreaking initiative to advance artificial intelligence education in K-12 schools across the United States.
Ketteman was chosen from hundreds of applicants to participate in this innovative 15-month program. It includes a variety of activities and information sessions focusing on the tools of artificial intelligence, Temple ISD said.
Congratulations to Kade Miller and Reid Jacobs of Waco who won the North Four-Ball Golf Championship. They went wire to wire to claim the 2025 North Four-Ball at Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen, TX.
Miller and Jacobs posted four-ball rounds of 64 and 69 over the two days of play for a 133 total.
