Good News Friday: April 18, 2025
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Midway High is proud to announce junior Nandini Kadakia on scoring a perfect 36 on the A.C.T placing her among the top 2% of test takers nationwide.
She credits her success to school resources, study sessions, and strong support from teachers and peers.
It was Southern Little League night at Waco ISD Veterans Field last night. The leaguers from southern got free admission to watch University play Waco High if they wore there jersey.
The teams and coaches also joined the teams on the field for player introductions and the National Anthem.
Bartlett F.C.C.LA brought their a-game to the state meeting in Dallas. Makaela Russell snagged Gold in Etiquette, while Asja Ramirez earned Silver in Child Development.
The Parliamentary Procedure team scored 2nd place and is headed to Nationals in Orlando. Plus, Dylan walked away with a $1,600 dollar scholarship.

For the first time in KISD history, a U-U-L one-act play is heading to region! Chaparral High’s Bobcat Theater is now among the top 24 5-A schools in Texas with their moving performance of This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, and This Girl Does Nothing. They will prep for Regional’s next week in Prosper.
It was a day of celebration at H-L-N’s monthly Conectar meeting, where Waco ISD Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Spicer inspired attendees as the guest speaker.
5 Waco ISD students also received scholarships, thanks to a generous sponsorship from Alliance Bank. Congratulations!
We would like to congratulate our very own First Alert Anchor Alyssa Riggs and her fiancé Chandler on their wedding tomorrow! The two met at West Texas A&M University in 2021. In may they will celebrate 4 years together!
Chandler proposed in February of 2024 in Vail, Colorado!
