WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Killeen ISD students are making their mark in the art world. 27 young artists earned Top Honors at the State Visual Art Scholastic Event!
Chaparral High’s Finn Brantley took home the Prestigious Gold Seal and 17 others earned All-State Artist titles for their standout work.
Just earlier this week, Representative John Carter named Salado High senior Emerson Black the winner of the 2025 TX-31 Congressional Art Competition.
Her artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year and she will also receive a trip to Washington, D.C. to attend a winners’ reception at the Capitol.
Meanwhile, Pete celebrated his big day on April 29th surrounded by his loving family, including 7 children and generations of grandchildren.
