WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The Groesbeck 12U Softball Team is celebrating a State Title after a near perfect season.
The girls went undefeated in the regular season and carried that momentum into the state tournament winning 5 of 6 games to bring home the championship.
Head Coach Jered Stone and Assistant Coach Greg Truett first started coaching many of these girls back when they were just 6-years-old.
After spending a few seasons with other teams, the coaches reunited with the group at the age 10, helping them reach the State Tournament. As 11-year-olds, they finished third in districts.
Now, just a year later, that same team is celebrating the ultimate victory, a 12U State Championship.
