Good News Friday: September 5th, 2025
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - From vision to reality, Girl Scout Troops 400 and 111-77 teamed up with local artists to create a stunning mural at the Lake Waco Wetlands.
The artwork shows day and night scenes and highlights the “Leave no Trace Principles.”
Each girl’s part is in the design, earning them a Bronze Award for their community project.

Taylor Adame, A U.S. History Teacher and Social Studies Department Head, is a finalist for the 2026 Texas Teacher of the Year.
With a decade of experience, she inspires students by connecting history to today’s world.
Taylor’s interview is October 16, with winners announced October 17.

Big congratulations to Belton High School Principal Claudia Knox! She’s been named the Region 12 Outstanding Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.
With 29 years in education, 21 of those in Belton ISD, Knox is known for her student-first leadership and lasting impact.
She now moves on as a contender for Texas principal of the year.
