WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Copperas cove ISD is celebrating one of its own.
The Texas Foreign Language Association named Spanish teacher Lisa Yates 2025 Teacher of the Year for her excellence in teaching, cultural advocacy, and mentorship.
Yates also earned the the organization’s excellence in Teaching Award.
Twenty-four theatre Temple High School Arts Students earned Superior Ratings at the Texas Thespian Contest, qualifying them for National Competition. The school’s students also brought home the All-Star Troupe Award and placed second in the Team Tech Challenge.
Their three-day run of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!: The musical” starts today and runs through December 7th.
Killeen ISD High School Theater Students are making waves at the State and National Level.
Over Thanksgiving break, they earned 268 college callbacks, 21 National Qualifier Awards, more than 1 Million dollars in scholarships, plus Disney and All-State Honors.
Temple High School F.F.A teams impressed at the Area-12 Competition.
The AG Skills team came in 3rd just missing state, while the Radio Team placed 8th in its first area contest.
The top two finishers in each event at the area contest qualified to advance to the State LDE Competition today through tomorrow in Huntsville.
