BELTON, Texas (KWTX) - Belton ISD superintendent Dr. Melinda Golden has been selected for the Holdsworth Center’s prestigious superintendent leadership program.

Golden is one of just 17 superintendents across the state chosen for the 18-month initiative focused on leadership training and coaching.

Golden said the program will strengthen her leadership and benefit the entire district.

Cameron Park Zoo celebrated the 38th birthday of Gilligan, the youngest of the Galapagos tortoises at the zoo.

While 38 years may seem mature, Gilligan is just a youngster as Galapagos tortoises can live up to 200 years old.
