Classroom Champion: Evant’s Ludwika Rodriguez
EVANT, Texas (KWTX) - Evant senior Ludwika Rodriguez stays busy.
“I do pretty much all the sports they offer here,” said Rodriguez.
“Basketball, volleyball, track and field, golf and tennis. And I also do 4-H and FFA. And I also rodeo with different associations. So I do Texas High School Rodeo and central Texas Youth Rodeo Association.”
“I think maybe she’s missed one day of being sick,” said Evant girls head basketball coach Benja Standford.
“So she’s always here. And encourages other kids and other players. Even younger kids. She’s coaching one of the Little Dribbler teams.”
Even in the midst of what seems like a hectic schedule Luwi, as she’s known to her friends, excels in the classroom. She ranks 4th in her class at Evant.
Luwi plans to take that academic prowess to Tarleton State University to study business.
“I’ve always just loved numbers,” said Rodriguez.
“Anything business related. Starting a business, or helping someone work their business is what I want to do.”
Luwi hopes to one day use her business degree to help the agricultural community. A community that she says has already given her so much in her young life.
“4-H and FFA have really given me a bunch of opportunities,” said Rodriguez.
“I’ve already gotten some scholarships from it this year and I think I want to give back. They’ve helped me so much, especially my county extension agent. So I want to give back to them by helping them improve agriculture and get farmers what they deserve.”
A noble cause worth stiving for. Congratulations to this week’s Classroom Champion, Ludwika Rodriguez!
