Classroom Champions: Valley Mills’ Camryn Witte
VALLEY MILLS, Texas (KWTX) - From tennis to volleyball or even cheering on her school, Camryn Witte pours every ounce of energy into everything she does.
“I definitely try to give it my all in everything that I do,” said Witte. “I think that’s the only way I’ve been able to do so much since I was in high school.”
The Valley Mills senior was a standout volleyball player and has served as the captain of the cheer team.
“Giving my all in practice whenever I can is important,” said Witte. “It’s important to work as hard as you can when you’re there and make the most of your time.”
Witte is also heavily involved in 4-H and FFA. As the FFA chapter president, she’s won numerous awards showing chickens, rabbits, goats, and lambs.
“I started off with the smaller animals and then begged my dad enough to let me get a lamb my sophomore year,” said Witte. “You start off with these animals when they’re really young, especially with the rabbits, they’re born at my house and I get to raise them until they’re show-ready. It’s really cool to see their development when you’ve raised them and seen them from when they were itty bitty.”
On top of her extracurriculars, Witte is expected to graduate as class valedictorian. Next fall, she’ll attend Tarleton State University with the hopes of becoming a veterinarian.
“I’ve just kind of always loved animals and I’ve always wanted to be a vet since I knew what it was,” said Witte. “When I saw that as an opportunity, that’s just what I wanted to do.”
Witte says her parents deserve all the credit for her accomplishments.
“I wouldn’t have been able to achieve most of the things that I’ve done without the help of my parents,” said Witte. “They’re there for me in the early mornings and the late nights, helping me however they can. They’re really the only reason I’ve been able to achieve so much, so I’m very thankful for that.”
Congratulations to Camryn Witte, you’re a Classroom Champion!
