‘We have a country to save’: Turning Point USA board elects Erika Kirk to serve as CEO and chair
(KWTX) - The Turning Point USA Board on Sept. 18 unanimously elected Erika Kirk, the widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, to serve as the new CEO and Chair of the Board.
“As Charlie always said, ‘We have a country to save.’ We will not surrender or kneel before evil,” the board wrote in a statement.
“The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring that ever before,” the board further wrote.
Charlie Kirk was assassinated while addressing students at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Sept. 10.
Charlie Kirk left behind his wife of four years and two children.
“I love submitting to Charlie because he is a phenomenal leader, and the way that he loves me melts me to want to be able to,” Erika Kirk previously said.
Erika Kirk studied political science in college and is working on her doctorate in Christian leadership and biblical studies.
