Baylor reportedly finalizing hire of former Magnolia president Doug McNamee for AD role

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Sources tell KWTX former Magnolia president Doug McNamee is expected to be named Baylor’s next athletic director.

McNamee, who currently serves as the president of lifestyle brand Field & Stream, reportedly emerged as the lead candidate for the position over the weekend.

From 2012 to 2018, McNamee also served in the Baylor athletics office as the associate athletic director for the Bear Foundation and later as senior associate athletic director for external affairs. He then left to lead operations for Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia company, where he served as president for four years.

McNamee is a current Wacoan and graduated from Baylor in 2003.

Sources tell KWTX McNamee is expected to accept the position soon and will be followed by an announcement from Baylor.
