Hamilton wins 2A D1 State Championship

ARLINGTON, Texas (KWTX) - For the first time in program history, the Hamilton Bulldogs are football state champions after defeating Joaquin, 21-7 in the 2A Division 1 State Championship.

After a long opening Joaquin offensive drive that resulted in a touchdown, Hamilton scored 21 unanswered points and shut out the Rams in the second half en route of their title.

Hamilton senior Bret Bauman was named Defensive MVP after turning in 16 total tackles, nine solo.

Senior Halston Haile was the game’s Offensive MVP after rushing 93 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.

Hamilton finished their 2025 state championship campaign with an overall record of 14-2.
