BOSQUEVILLE, Texas (KWTX) - Bosqueville senior Bobby Moore will try anything.

When he began to pick up fishing, he joined the Bosqueville Bass Fishing Club. He decided to try cross country for the first time as a freshman and ended his career with regional appearances in all four years.

When Bobby tries, Bobby succeeds.

“Usually, I’m just like ‘I may as well try it,’” said Moore. “If I end up being somewhat good at it, I’ll put a lot more effort into it, you know, try my heart out at it. I don’t try to quit things. I don’t consider myself a quitter. If I start something I like to finish it.”

Bobby is a man of many talents. He’s been taking things apart since he was very young. He was named a Grand Champion in ag mechanics at the McLennan County Show.

He has also built several trailers, already building his third one. It’s very challenging for the average Joe, but not for Bobby.

“Really it’s just building a rectangle, building a couple of triangles, and making sure everything’s square and then slapping some wheels on it,” said Moore.

“When things break down, he’s one of those types of kids that’ll say ‘Yeah I’ll fix it,’” said Bobby’s cross country coach Niki Taylor. “He’s super smart, he’s very mechanically inclined. It’s really super refreshing to see that in kids.”

A straight-A student, Bobby is ranked 14th in his senior class. He plans on taking his talents to Stephen F. Austin University next fall where he’ll major in mechanical engineering.

Until then, he’ll continue to be a mentor and leader to his peers at Bosqueville.

“I had a bunch of freshmen this year in cross country and they always talk about how much they’re gonna miss him next year,” said Taylor. “I think people are gonna remember the little things he did for people. They’re definitely gonna remember how smart he was, how dependable he was, he’s just gonna leave a lasting legacy here at Bosqueville that people are gonna remember.”

“I like encouraging others,” said Moore. “One thing I find is that it’s so much easier to focus on getting better when you’re not focusing on yourself, when you’re trying to uplift and encourage others.”

Congratulations to Bobby Moore, you’re a Classroom Champion!
