Virginia Lane Spencer, 86, passed away April 10, 2025, at Legend Oaks Nursing Home in Fort Worth, Texas.

The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park in Robinson. Visitation will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. preceding the service.

Virginia was born on February 19, 1939, in Waco, Texas, to Doyle Primrose Brink and Cleo Markum Brink. She attended La Vega High School and married Matthew Clifton Lane in June 1954. Virginia remained devoted to him until his passing. Together, they had four children: Vickie, Brenda, Randy, and Rusty.

In August 1983, Virginia married Jim E. Spencer, expanding her family with two stepchildren, Sue Lynn and Jim Spencer Jr. She cherished traveling and reading, especially alongside Jim.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Randy Lane; her daughter, Brenda Moon; both of her husbands, Matthew Lane and Jim Spencer; her brother, Gilbert Brink; her half-sisters, Margo Ballas and Rachel Cronan; her half-brother, Arnold Brink; her grandson, Dustin Moon; and her son-in-law, Steve Moon.

She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Lane Gorgas, and husband Paul of Fort Worth, Texas; her son, Rusty Lane of Royse City, Texas; her stepson, Jim Spencer Jr. of Waco; and her stepdaughter, Sue Lynn Adams, and husband James of Troy, Texas. She is also survived by her half-brothers: Wes Brink of Kingwood, Texas; Mike Brink of Euless, Texas; and Andy Brink of Dallas, Texas. Virginia leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly.

The Pallbearers will be Michael Colwick, Blake Engel, Matthew Gorgas, Buddy Locklar, Matthew King, Jake Morphew, and Carlin Cox.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Waco Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
