Killeen teenager charged in shooting that killed woman, wounded man
KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – Detectives with the Killeen Police Department arrested Jada Raquelle Levy, 18, in the murder of 26-year-old Tai’Lynn Akaya Wright.
Levy, charged with aggravated assault and murder, is being held at the Bell County Jail on bonds totaling $300,000.
At approximately 2 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2025, police officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Monte Carlo Lane to investigate reports of two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Upon their arrival, the officers located an unconscious woman and a conscious man inside the residence. Killeen Fire EMS arrived and provided life-saving measures to both victims.
The 26-year-old male victim was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries. He has been treated and released.
The female victim, Wright, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:47 a.m. by Justice of the Nicola James.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victims were inside their home when Levy fired a weapon from outside toward the residence.
Levy was arrested on Dec. 31 and arraigned that same day.
