CLARIFICATION: Mark Wahlberg not coming to Fort Cavazos for ‘Rock for the Brave’ event
FORT CAVAZOS, Texas (KWTX) - CLARIFICATION: Fort Cavazos clarified actor Mark Wahlberg will not be among the celebrities on post for the Military Family Fest Rock for the Brave event on Saturday, Sept. 28.
A Reel shared on the Fort Cavazos Exchange Facebook page featured Wahlberg telling viewers to “joins us” for the event as “we celebrate” military families. The Reel is attached to the this article in the video player above.
Although it appeared Wahlberg himself was part of the event, officials on post now say the actor is not part of the event and was never scheduled to visit the post.
According to the Fort Cavazos MWR website, the celebrities expected to be at the event include former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski, country music singer Cole Swindell, TV personality Chip Gaines, pastry chef and TV personality Duff Goldman, comedian Adam Yenser and magician Kid Ace.
A pre-festival meet and greet with Gronkowski is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the Community Events and Bingo Center at Clear Creek Road building 50012 in Fort Cavazos.
The festival is set to begin a 2 p.m. at the Phantom Warrior Stadium building 50029 with Yenser is set to take the main stage at 6 p.m. and the Swindell concert is set to begin at 7 p.m.
