WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Two Killeen ISD Students and an Elementary Teacher are being honored by VFW District 14 for promoting Patriotism and Civic Responsibility.
Precious Mayag won the Voice of Democracy Audio-Essay Contest, Ko’ree Fenwick earned 1st in the Patriot’s Pen Essay and Teacher Corey Cooks was recognized for outstanding efforts in teaching citizenship.
Two Killeen ISD campuses are being recognized at the State Level for Outstanding Theatre Programs.
Chaparral High School’s Bobcat Drama and Union Grove Middle School earned the Texas Educational Theatre Association’s exemplary campus of Distinction Awards for 2025.

The Killeen ISD board is spreading holiday cheer by honoring students who designed the district’s official holiday cards.
Three of the designs will serve as official holiday cards, and one student’s artwork was chosen for the Education Foundation Card.
