‘WANTED - COWARD’: Suspect in Central Texas collision fled the scene on foot, left sister and nephew behind, police say
FLORENCE, Texas (KWTX) - Florence police are searching for a wanted suspect it described as a “coward” who fled a high-speed chase on Christmas Eve that resulted in a major crash and fire.
Simarre Harris-Brunson fled in a vehicle at a high rate of speed on Dec. 24, 2025, according to authorities.
While traveling at nearly 120 mph, he collided with another vehicle, causing a crash that resulted in one vehicle rolling over and his vehicle catching fire.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving his sister and 5-year-old nephew in the burning car, police said.
Harris-Brunson currently has warrants for evading in a motor vehicle with serious bodily injury Felony 3 and injury to a child elderly or disabled individual Felony 2, along with an out of county warrant in Bell County.
Anyone who sees Harris-Brunson or knows of his whereabouts can call 911.
