What a GLORIOUS day we had across Central Texas after a stormy first half of the work week. Winds will be calming down and skies will remain clear overnight, opening the door for a little chill for your Friday morning commute. You may want a jacket heading out in the morning as lows will be down into the upper 40s and low 50s… But with ample sunshine and breezy south winds, temperatures will be soaring back into the upper 70s to low 80s for the afternoon. Stronger south winds will begin to move back in for the weekend. Winds could gust up to 35 MPH at times. Those winds will bring in more warmth and humidity. Cloud cover is also going to increase over the weekend, but NO rain is in the forecast to ruin any outdoor plans! Highs will be in the low 80s for both Saturday and Sunday.

The gusty south winds will stay strong into early next week thanks to a storm system that’ll push into the Central U.S. Monday. Although we’re expecting some scattered showers and storms late Monday and Tuesday, some of which could be strong, the best severe storm chances look like they’ll stay to our north and northwest, but something we’ll be monitoring closely over the next couple of days. Thanks to those gusty south winds - We’re expecting temperatures for most of next week to remain ABOVE normal… In fact, we could see highs flirting with 90° by Wednesday. Another cold front looks like it’ll be moving through Central Texas towards the end of the week - That looks to be when our next chance for showers and storms arrives, along with when our temperatures will be taking a tumble. Scattered showers and storms look possible, starting late Thursday, with rain continuing into Friday, and possibly into next weekend too. Temperatures by Friday look to fall back into the 70s and we could stay in the 70s through next weekend. As a reminder, we are in our severe weather season, so it’s very important to stay up to date with the forecast!
